Cleveland Engineering Society Presents Awards at March 3 Conference

Cleveland, OH – On March 3, 2016, the Cleveland Engineering Society (CES) will host its 64th Annual Design & Construction Conference at LaCentre, Westlake, OH. The theme of the conference is Reinvesting in the North Coast.

At the conference CES will present awards recognizing outstanding leadership and excellence in design and construction.

The Hall of Fame award is presented to an engineer and/or other design/construction professional for the purpose of honoring his or her outstanding achievements or career in the field of engineering, architecture, construction, or related areas for the betterment of professional efforts beyond the day-to-day routine of a candidate’s work and business with outstanding contributions to the profession, the public welfare, and/or humankind.

The following individuals will be inducted into the CES Hall of Fame:

Engineer of the Year: Michael Thorson, P.E., Thorson Baker & Associates

Industry Professional of the Year: Wesley A. Hansen, Albert M. Higley Company

CES Design & Construction Conference Hosts Keynotes from UH and the GPC

Cleveland, OH – On March 3, 2016, the Cleveland Engineering Society (CES) will host its 64th Annual Design & Construction Conference at LaCentre, Westlake, OH. The theme of the conference is Reinvesting in the North Coast.

Steven Standley, University Hospital’s Chief Administrative Officer, will be the lunch keynote speaking on Anchor Institution Leadership as it relates to the dynamic between the institution and the community.

The morning will start with an opening keynote address from Jeremy Paris, Executive Director of the Group Planning Commission. Mr. Paris will speak about the Revitalization of Public Square and Cleveland’s Outdoor Spaces. The conference will close with a MAX Talk presentation by the Society for Marketing Professionals discussing Reinvesting in the North Coast.
