Guided tour at five NASA Glenn Research Facilities
IMPORTANT INFO: All visitors to NASA Glenn must be 18 or over and are required to present one form of current government-issued identification (state issued driver's license, U.S. Passport, Military ID card, U.S. permanent resident card, etc.)
Tour stops will depend on availability the day of tour. Each stop is 30 minutes (10 minutes between for travel)
9:00am ‐ 9:30am: 10x10 Supersonic Wind Tunnel [designed to test supersonic propulsion components from inlets and nozzles to full‐scale jet and rocket engines]
9:40am ‐ 10:10am: Electric Propulsion and Power Lab [supports research and development of spacecraft power and electric propulsion systems]
10:20am – 10:50am: Simulated Lunar Operations (SLOPE) Lab [provides controlled test conditions to evaluate the tractive performance of roving vehicles on simulated Lunar and Martian terrain]
11:00am – 11:30am: Graphics and Visualization (GVIS) Lab [unique lab that develops graphic visualizations from data and models to provide researchers, scientists, engineers and others with a visual tool to develop solutions for their work]
11:40am – 12:10 pm: Zero‐G Research Facility [allows experiment hardware to free fall a distance of 432 feet to provide researchers with a near weightless or microgravity environment for a duration of 5.18 seconds]
